GREAT NEWS!

I requested permission for the Class of ’69 to tour Spring Valley High School, and spoke to the Superintendent of Schools, Ira Oustatcher, who is a graduate of Nyack High School. He approved the idea and applauded our desire to visit the school. He stated the doors to the rooms will be open and offered to provide a guided tour.

While speaking with Ira, I suggested the Media Program create a web site for Spring Valley High School Alumni, with an integrated, online classmate program for all of their past and future classes. We discussed our committees approach towards organizing our reunion, and what resources we utilized. I stated the data from classmates.com provided opportunities to contact people, post notes, as well as maps to view the demographics of where we are presently living.

We spoke about the Class of 1969 versus the Class of 2009. Ira asked if we would participate in a dialogue with present students about attending SVHS in 1969. This will help the school and provide us with an opportunity to explore our past.
